Islam
The literal meaning of Islam is peace; submitting to the will of God and surrendering one's own pleasure for the pleasure of God. Islamic is practiced by over 1.5 billion people worldwide and by over 5,000 people here in the triangle. The Islamic Association of Raleigh serves the Muslim community in Raleigh and the surrounding areas.
The Da'wah or the Outreach Committee of the IAR provides services for non Muslims and new Muslims. The goal of the committee is to increase understanding of Islam among non-Muslims and Muslims, as well as to facilitate the adjustment of new Muslims into the Muslim community. Toward this end, we offer various classes, activities, visits and presentations.
